Silverudds Blue
Egg Color
~ Green
The Silverudds Blue , previously known as Isbar, are one of my favorite breeds. I initially became interested in the breed when I had some mean roosters. I was new to chickens and having a few roosters come at and attack me got me looking for a breed that was a bit less people aggressive.
I discovered the Silverudds Blue are known not to be people aggressive. Though they are a smaller bird and people friendly, the roosters are active and fierce when defending against predators. Their smaller size and foraging abilities translate to a lower feed bill.

If having birds with great personalities and being easy keepers is not enough reason to own a few, add in good producers of sage green eggs, often with speckles. They also come in three colors.. blue. black and splash.. so they add variety to your flock as well as your egg basket.
Cream Legbar
Egg Color
~ Blue
I got into Cream Legbars as a lark. Someone local was going to get some from a breeder and I decided to have her get me a few as well. As a breed I found them to be rather cute with the poofy crests and the blue egg they lay was going to be added value to my egg basket.

As I grew out the chicks I received, I came to love their friendly inquisitiveness and perky attitudes. I then did some more research on them and decided to get more involved with the breed and to breed good quality birds to the proposed standard. At this time the Cream Legbar Club is working to get the breed accepted to the American Poultry Association. They are almost there and it has been interesting to see what is needed to get a breed approved.

These birds are a real pleasure to own. As chicks they are always the first to be bold and friendly and their delightful chick chatter is musical. The hens are productive and lay sky blue eggs. The size of these birds make them a good dual porpose bird as well.
Wheaten Marans

~ Dark Brown
