I decided I really liked my Black Copper Marans rooster. I wanted to get more Marans, but wanted to work with something not too common in my area. I did so research and fell in love with the Wheaten Marans. Since I want to breed really nice birds and not just have some dark eggs to sell, I looked to find breeders that bred birds to the standard and also did well in shows.

We have obtained eggs from three different breeders. I only wanted two lines but the first seller sent me eggs that gave me Blue Wheatens.. something I do not want. These birds take a while to mature, so in 2018 we are growing out the birds that hatched and will start to compare them to the standard when the mature to decide who we are going to put in our breeding pens. We are hoping to have some nice birds and eggs available in 2019.
