Our Mar-Bars are very popular. A cross of a Black Copper Marans over Cream Legbars give chicks you can sex at hatch. Thepullets will be solid black and the young cockerels will be black with a white dot on their heads.
The pullets, when mature, lay a more sage to sea green egg that is a delightful addition to any egg basket. The cockerels from this cross get to a decent processing weight due to the Marans influence. Should you want to keep one for your flock, they are lovely birds that are softly barred and often have crests.
